Creative Dialogue is an international workshop for young composers and performers, founded in 2008 by Kaija Saariaho, Magnus Lindberg and Anssi Karttunen.

At the heart of Creative Dialogue is a simple idea: we learn most by making music together. Young artists work alongside experienced composers and performers, developing new music through rehearsal, discussion, experimentation and improvisation. Rather than teaching a fixed method, Creative Dialogue creates an environment of trust in which ideas can be tried, questioned, changed and discovered together.

Over the years, each edition has opened a new direction — from strings and voice to electronics, kantele, improvisation and, more recently, choreography and dance. The project continues to evolve while retaining its original spirit of curiosity, openness and artistic friendship.
